Chewing -

Some babies will chew anything they can get their hands on when they are teething so try and provide them something suitable and as they get older raw fruit and vegetables can be a great alternative to a teether. Carrot sticks are a favourite or pieces of apple. Make sure that you always supervise your child when they are eating.
Cool drinks -
Cool, preferrably sugar free drinks will help to soothe your baby’s gums and can also help if they are dribbling a lot. The best option is to give them carefully cooled boiled water - just make sure it is not too cold and definitely still not hot!
Comfort -
Comforting or playing with your baby can sometimes help to distract them from the pain in their gums. It may be that your baby is feeling too irritable or restless to play, but at other times, it may be a good way of getting them to concentrate on something other than their teething pain.
